Mama Bear's Tallowed Ground Collection™ is a tribute to the ancestral wisdom of a more natural and traditional way of living. This is "sacred skin food" in its purest form, similar to the very lipids our own bodies produce. The base is a slow, quadruple rendered, grass fed, hormone free tallow sourced right here in Norfolk County.  From our soaps to our whipped skin formulations, these tallow creations bridge the gap between our modern world and the grounding traditions of the past. We use every gift Gaia provides, ensuring nothing of value is ever wasted.  And our skin reaps all the benefits.

How Do I Choose?

Each whipped tallow cream in the Tallowed Ground™ collection begins with the same foundation — quadruple-rendered Norfolk County tallow, rendered in-house by Mama Bear. The difference is in how and where you use them.  Though they are small, the whipped formulas glide easily over freshly washed, slightly damp skin and only a pea sized amount or less is required.  A little goes a long way, and most people get 4-6 weeks of twice daily use with each 15 ml tin.

For everyday, frequent-use care.
Ultra-minimal, fragrance-free, and gentle enough for baby skin — your go-to for simple, reliable nourishment.  Note, this is beef tallow, and will always have a slightly lard-like scent.  If tallow has no scent, it has been overprocessed and has lost much of it's natural benefits and vitamin profile.

Designed to help draw out imperfections and support clarity in areas that benefit from a more refining approach.  Enhanced with copaiba balsam and *frankincense, with the latter being the dominant scent.

For richer, restorative care.
Our most enriched formula — delivering deeper nourishment, botanical support, and a more concentrated, treatment-like experience.  Enhanced FIVE skin-loving essential oils, including copaiba balsam, *carrot seed oil, *frankincense, *helichrysum (Immortelle), and *rose hip seed oil.  Rose is the dominant scent in this nourishing blend.

Why don't I see larger size tins?

These are all natural tallow blends, carefully formulated over many months of trials.  They contain thoughfully chosen, often organic oils, that work synergistically with each other to allow blemishes and imperfections of many types to naturally rise to the surface of the skin to be releasedover time. They are not your average tallow balm, only rendered 3 times, with a touch of honey and essential oils to hide the scent, that sit on top of the skin, like some products.

Mama Bear's formulations have no artificial preservatives, though they are considered anhydrous (oil based) and have both meadowfoam seed oil and vitamin E to help extend the shelf life naturally.  But as soon as you expose the product to air or put a finger in it, you expose it to potential contamination.  A larger size means it's more likely to be contaminated by the time you finish using the tin.  So Mama Bear offers bundle deals that let you save  $2 - $12 when you buy more than one at time.  This keeps them product fresh for longer, and/or allows you to keep one at work, one in your purse, one in your bathroom and gift one to a friend!  We suggest using it within 12 months of the date it was made.  However keeping unused tins in the fridge until ready to use will extend the shelf life even more.
