What It Is

GRIT & GREEN™ is a mineral and enzyme-based dishwasher powder handcrafted in small batches and formulated specifically for hard water conditions. Please note, this product comes in a stand-up Kraft pouch, not the glass jar shown in the pic. 

It combines oxygen-powered cleaning, enzymes, and plant-derived surfactants to effectively remove grease, food residue, and buildup — while helping prevent dullness and spotting on dishes and glassware.

Developed through extensive real-world testing, this formula works with your water, not against it.

The Formula

Sodium Carbonate (Washing Soda)
A natural mineral builder that softens water and helps break down grease and food residue, allowing dishes to rinse clean.

Sodium Percarbonate
An oxygen-based cleaner that releases active oxygen in water to help lift stains, remove residue, and brighten dishes without chlorine.

Sodium Citrate
A water-softening agent that binds minerals in hard water, helping reduce spotting and film while improving overall cleaning performance.

Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda)
A gentle buffer that supports cleaning while helping maintain a balanced wash environment.

Sea Salt (Sodium Chloride)
Supports proper wash function and helps maintain consistency in the cleaning process.

Decyl Glucoside
A plant-derived non-ionic surfactant that helps lift grease and oils from dishes, allowing them to rinse away cleanly.

Enzymes (Protease, Amylase)
Help break down food residues such as proteins and starches, improving cleaning performance without harsh additives.

Water Matters

This formula is designed for hard water.

For best results, we recommend using a simple, natural rinse aid made with:

Distilled water + citric acid

This helps remove mineral residue and enhance clarity.

Suggested starting points:

• Soft water: a lighter solution, with less citric acid
• Hard water: up to 20% citric acid in distilled water

Adjust as needed based on your machine and water conditions.

A soft water formula will also be offered separately.

How to Use

Use 1 tablespoon per load.

Place in the detergent compartment and run a normal or heavy cycle.

For best results, pair with a citric acid rinse aid.
